Hello,

We currently use the Livox Avia a lot in big and small projects within our company.

To guard or control a certain process, we often need a scanner with a equal FOV horizontally & vertically. Like the Mid70 and the Avia (~70°)
However, some news got to us telling the Livox Avia will not be produced anymore and that you should fallback to the Mid70 or use the new HAP.
This would be bad news, as the Mid70 is too slow and the HAP is more designed for other type of applications. The 25° vertical FOV is much to limited. We could of course mount 2 or 3 HAPs on top of eachother but it would be more costly and especially more complex setup.
So is it true that the Livox Avia is end of life? It’s a relatively new scanner. Could you share why? it seems like a very popular and successful product but we could be wrong off course.
Will there be some kind of HAP70+ in the future, which will use the HAP tech but rotate the lasers like the AVIA so you again get the circular FOV
Best regards

Hello,
We very much agree that the Avia is the best of the Livox product range.
The Avia is very popular. All through 2022, all new stocks of Avia in the DJI store sold out within 48 hours. Any reduction in sales would be due to stock shortages.
The Avia combination of long range and wide FOV makes is especially suited for a range of applications that are not possible with other Livox products or competing manufacturers.
So, I think any idea of Avia EOL is just a rumor.
Industry expectation is that product EOL should be announced with at least 12 months notice so that users can purchase spares and integrate an alternative.

Hello,

any news on this topic? The avia is still present on the site, but for a long time not orderable. It would be good to have any news on this item, so we know how to proceed in upcoming projects.

Thanks!

We have also had confirmation that the Avia is no longer being made

It is very disappointing, as we also built projects around the device, and heard no advance warning or reason for the discontinuation. There does not even seem to be a real announcement, and the product is still shown on the web site, which is confusing. The other Livox devices will be hard to fit into our use cases, and the unexpected change makes Livox look like a less reliable supplier.

Maybe Livox can still change their minds or make a similar device if they see that many people liked and used the Avia.

Yes, same here.
An Avia-2 or HAP-Avia with the SDK2 would be great alternative

How have you confirmed that the Avia is discontinued? Did Livox email you?

(Forgot to paste the information): “ We regret to inform you that due to restructuring, AVIA Lidar production has officially ceased. Other Livox products remain unaffected.” :-(

I have asked if it is being replaced or if there are any final units to be sold (since it is still on their website). I’ll come back if they reply.

It seems like the Avia production will start again towards the end of the year. There might be a lot of demand built up, so availability could still be problematic.
